The Output Value of Apples in Washington will Break $2 billion

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2014-01-03 10:13:46China Agriculture Report Print According to the latest data of the U.S.A Ministry of Agriculture, the output of apples in Washington State in 2012 reached 129 million bushel (2.457 billion kg), and the output value reached $2.25billion. According to the statistics of Washington State  Cleaning House for Growers, the output value of apples will reach $3.4 billion taking the consideration of by-products such as fruit juice and jam. The output value of apples in 2012 increased by 16.5% from 2011. The healthy growth of apples and good weather have made contributions to the  output increase. According to the chairman of Washington State Apple Committee, the cold weather last year damaged the apple production in New York and Michigan State, pushing the market price for apples. Washington avoided the disaster, therefore, the production and sales went well. Washington State Apple Committee predicts that the output of apples in Washington State will reach 120 million bushel in 2013.
