Bulletin on the Preliminary Verification Data of GDP in 2012

According to regulations of the NBS on the notice of print and distribute the reform of China’s GDP accounting and data release system, the annual gross domestic product (GDP) accounting includes preliminary accounting, preliminary verification and final verification. Recently, the NBS conducted the preliminary verification of GDP in 2012, based on annual statistical report of 2012, financial data of some industries, and sample survey data, the main results are as follows:After preliminary verification, the total GDP at current price in 2012 amounted to 51,894.2 billion yuan, a decrease of 38.0 billion yuan than the preliminary accounting number, and an increase of 7.7 percent at constant price, which was 0.1 percentage point lower than the preliminary accounting number. Of which, the value-added of the primary industry was 5,237.4 billion yuan, 0.3 billion yuan lower than the preliminary accounting number, and increased 4.5 percent, remained at the same level with the preliminary accounting number. The value-added of the second industry was 23,516.2 billion yuan, 15.7 billion yuan lower than the preliminary accounting number, and increased 7.9 percent, 0.2 percentage point lower than the preliminary accounting number. The value-added of the tertiary industry was 23,140.6 billion yuan, 22.0 billion yuan lower than the preliminary accounting number, and increased 8.1 percent, remained at the same level with the preliminary accounting number. Calculated according to preliminary verification, the primary industry accounted for 10.1 percent, the secondary industry accounted for 45.3 percent, the tertiary industry accounted for 44.6 percent.
