India Plans to Raise Import Tariffs on U.S. Apples to 75% in August, Imports May Drop 70%

On May 18 this year, India notified WTO: India decided to take punitive action against the United States by raising import tariffs on the products from the U.S. because the United States raised the tariffs on India's steel and aluminium exports to the U.S. But a month later, India said it would raise import tariffs by 25% and the effective date was extended from June 21 to August 4 this year.
