Pesticide Material Price Went Up Massively

Pesticide materials saw massive increase in April, except for methanol. Yellow phosphorous was 16,409 Yuan per ton, up 16.4% over last year and up 0.3% over last month. While liquid chlorine and sulfur are 1,504 Yuan and 1,650 Yuan per ton, up by 1.6% and 10.0% respectively. Meanwhile, pushed by high oil price, benzene derivatives also went up by 5% to 6% in April.

 

Methanol slide to 2,670 Yuan per ton, down by 8.9%. The main reason is that there is sufficient supply in int’l market, which was a big blow to methanol export, also operation rate in the downstream enterprises was not good, and market trade was gloomy. As a result, sufficient inventory leads market price to go downwards.

 

Pesticide material production went up steadily in the first three months of 2011. Pure benzene was 1.521m tons, up by 19.6%, methanol was 4.77m tons, up by 24.3%, while glacial acetic acid was 0.913m tons, down by 5.6%.
