(1) The outbreak of the coronavirus has been more than 40 days, whereas this is the crucial period for cane harvesting and sowing. It was learned that the epidemic has caused a substantial impact on cane production. On the one hand, the new sowing process has been affected, it could be delayed by more than half month. On the other hand, the freight cost of canes has risen, the freshness of raw materials has declined, and processing companies had to halt operation due to insufficient raw material supply. Lastly, obstructed transportation curbed export and resulted to piling of stock.
 
(2) Sugar production had amounted to 6.4145 million tons till January, up 27.45% YoY; sugar sales 3.2008 million tons, up 26.88% YoY; sales ratio 49.90% and industrial stock 3.2137 million tons.
 
(3) Sugar price was down 1.02% MoM. Sugar price slid slightly during the month. Demand at downstream was restrained due to the epidemic influence, and resumption of production is foreseen in next month alongside the weakening of the epidemic, and sugar price may surge.
