Farm Product Imports & Exports in January ~ September

    According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s farm product imports and exports valued $9.69 billion and $5.35 billion respectively in September, up 20.5% and 8.3% respectively on the year-on-year basis, accounting for 6.1% of the nation’s total import value and 2.9% of the nation’s total export value respectively.

    Farm product imports and exports valued $82.83 billion and $44.83 billion respectively in January ~ September, up 24.6% and 4.1% respectively on the year-on-year basis.

    Farm product foreign trade generated a deficit of $4.34 billion in September and $38 billion in January ~ September, up 40% and 62.2% respectively on the year-on-year basis.

    Of the total farm product imports in September, 1.39 million MT were grains, 4.97 million MT were soybeans and 600,000 MT were other grains, up 162%, 20.3% and 37% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Grain and soybean import prices were $337/MT and $650/MT respectively.

    Of the farm product imports in January ~ September, 11.43 million MT were grains, 44.3 million MT soybeans and 6.17 million MT other grains, up 231%, 17.5% and 36% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
