Hotspot Analysis：Investment in Fertilizer Industry in September

The fertilizer industry completed fixed asset construction involving RMB15.42 billion investment in September, up 26.8% over the month before and up 16.1% on the year-on-year basis. Specifically, the investment consisted of RMB4.63 billion in the nitrogen industry, RMB540 million in the potassium industry, RMB4.88 billion in the compound fertilizer industry and RMB690 million in the phosphorus industry, up 13.1%, up 23.9%, up 39.9% but down 34% respectively on the year-on-year basis.Compared with the same period of last year, the share of investment in the nitrogen and compound fertilizer industry shrank from 31.7% and 29.9% to 28.4% and 29.3% respectively, but the share for organic fertilizer and others (humic acid fertilizer, amino acid fertilizer and biofertilizer, etc.) expanded from 17.9% and 9.6% to 20.1% and 10.7% respectively.
Between January ~ September, RMB100.97 billion investment were poured into fixed asset construction in the fertilizer industry, an increase of 15.4% on the year-on-year basis. 652 projects were wound up and 1,063 kicked off in January ~ September, 3.6% less but 8.4% more than the same period of last year respectively. Of the projects kicked off, 122 were nitrogen projects, 18.1% less than the same period of last year. The average amount of investment per project was RMB65.06 million, up 13% on the year-on-year basis. In the phosphorus industry, the average amount of investment per project increased 34.1% on the year-on-year basis.
