Fertilizer Exports in October

By CnAgri2012-12-03 10:17:57 Print     Urea exports hit 1.244 million MT in October, an upsurge of 155.1% on the year-on-year basis. Urea exports totaled 3.842 million MT in January ~ October, a significant increase of 60.2% on the year-on-year basis. 65% of the urea exports in the first ten months of this year were accomplished in September and October.
                                                    
    Though urea export tax was brought up to 110% from November on, urea exports are still predicted to be 1 million MT in the last two months of this year, considering 1 million MT stock in the bonded zone of major ports and considering India’s gigantic demand. Total urea exports may be 5 million MT in 2012.
 
    DAP exports were 467,000 MT in October, suggesting a substantial retreat from both the month before and the same period of last year. DAP exports totaled 3.167 million MT in January ~ October, a drop of 9.6% on the year-on-year basis. DAP export price was $556/MT in October, down 2% on the year-on-year basis. For five months running, DAP export price kept going south.
 
    MAP exports were 82,000 MT in October and 460,000 MT in January ~ October, up 21.8% but down 38.4% on the year-on-year basis.
 
    AS, TSP and NP compound fertilizer exports registered 165,000 MT, 69,000 MT and 106,000 MT respectively in October, up 9.8%, down 63.1% and down 82.3% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
