Wheaten Food & Rice Food Production in Nov. 2013

Substitution of industrial food to household staple food is significant, which promoted food consumption and thereby drove grain consumption.  
  
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, production of instant noodles and frozen wheaten and rice food totaled 1.478 million MT in Nov., up 4.90% YOY and down 7.66% MOM and totaled 14.597 million MT in Jan.-Nov., up 19.62% YOY.
  
For different food varieties:
  
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s instant noodles production was 0.8961 million MT in Nov. and 9.3551 million MT in Jan. ~ Nov., down 8.09% but up 6.45% respectively on the year-on-year basis. According to historical data, the production in Nov. declined 5.57% YOY but up 7.5% MOM; the production totaled 9.287 million MT in Jan.-Nov., up 7.99% YOY.
  
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s frozen wheaten and rice food production was 0.5819 million MT in Nov. and 5.0907 million MT in Jan. ~ Nov., up 8.67% and up 18.17% respectively on the year-on-year basis. According to historical data, the production in Nov. increased 26.49% YOY and 7.9% MOM; the production totaled 5.309 million MT in Jan.-Nov., up 47.40% YOY.
  
BOABC estimates that cookie and cake productions were about 603,000 MT and 225,500 MT respectively in Nov. Wheaten and rice food production totaled 2.306 million MT, up 7.77% YOY and 7.54% MOM. The production totaled 22.678 million MT in Jan.-Nov., up 17.95% YOY.
  
According to wheaten and rice food production, wheaten food enterprises consumed flour 1.369 million MT in Nov. and 13.825 MT in Jan.-Nov., down 3.13% and up 12.55% YOY respectively and up 7.66% MOM, accounting for 11.41% and 11.54%of total flour production respectively.
  
231,300 MT rice was consumed in Nov. and 2.1308 million MT in Jan. ~ Nov. for rice food production, up 17.51% and 28.17% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Rice consumption in rice food showed fast increase.
