The new leader of the American Jersey Cattle Association hails from Wisconsin.

Chris Sorenson from Pine River was elected to a one-year term as president of the group.

Sorenson is a partner in Hillview Jersey Farm, a family corporation formed in 1982. The 850-acre farm milks 100 registered cows, which are enrolled on Association's REAP program.

A five-year director of the AJCA, Chris also served as the co-chair of the 2012 National Heifer Sale, which raised over $300,000 for Jersey Youth Academy.

The AJCA held its annual convention in late June near North Conway, New Hampshire.
