Minister Han meets Director General Pamela Anderson of the International Potato Center

Minister Han Changfu had a courtesy meeting with the visiting Director General Pamela Anderson of the International Potato Center (CIP) and her delegation on July 26, 2012.

 

Minister Han extended a warm welcome to CIP delegation for their visit to China and the MoA in particular.

 

Minister Han stated that the MoA will make all efforts to support the preparation and construction of CIP-China Center for the Asia Pacific Region(CCCAP). The MoA is willing to work together with CIP to overcome difficulties as soon as possible through friendly consultation to facilitate the early completion of construction of CCCAP and its operation.

 

Pamela pointed out that the Chinese Government highly values food security and represents a model of successfully ensuring its food security. The CIP is willing to contribute to the further agricultural development in China via CCCAP.

 

Prior to the meeting, Vice Minister Zhang Taolin held a working meeting with the CIP delegation. Both sides exchanged views on issues involving CCCAP preparation and construction, in particular the registration of legal entity, construction site and approval of construction project.
