Vice Minister Chen Xiaohua met with Philip M. Seng,U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF)President and CEO and his delegation on Sept.21st, 2012. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in livestock production.

Chen stated that both China and U.S.are big producers and consumers in livestock sector and thus enjoy great potential for further cooperation.

Chen suggested that both sides intensify cooperation in the following aspects:

1. To intensify technical communication in, inter alia, breeding and selection of fine breeds, waste treatment, livestock and poultry production and processing.

2. To increase mutual-visits and personnel exchange to enhance mutual understanding and lay a solid foundation for future cooperation.

Philip Seng expressed that USMEF will actively facilitate relevant US agencies to speed up addressing the export of Chinese poultry products to U.S., to further promote win-win bilateral cooperation in livestock sector, and thus contribute to the common development of animal industry of both nations.
