Brazilian Meat Exports Continue to Increase

The first week of October showed an increase of daily exports of Brazilian soybean, beef, pork and chicken than in the same month of 2011.

The data was released by the nation's Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade and compiled by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply.

The daily exports of meat stood out. Shipments of cattle reached 4600 tons, resulting in $ 22.6 million - respective increases of 15 per cent and 24.3 percent.

Chicken had increases of 9.8 percent in volume and 3.8 percent in value.

The major indexes were in pork which saw an increase of 28.3 percent in value and 42.6 per cent in volume.

Corn also continued its growth trend that has been gaining since July. With daily average of $ 45.8 million and 169 700 tons / day, the respective increases were 107.4 and 123.5 percent. The average price of grain, however, fell by 7.2 percent.
