Herbicide EAMU approved for use in winter oats

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2012-10-15 19:19:12China Agriculture Report Print Residual and contact-acting herbicide SumiMax (flumioxazin) has a new Extension of Authorisation for Minor Use (EAMU) for use in winter oats.

SumiMax can be applied pre-emergence at 100 ml/hectare in a minimum water volume of 200 litres per hectare in all varieties of winter oats, for the control of annual meadow-grass and a wide-range of broad-leaved weeds, including charlock, chickweed, cleavers, common field speedwell, common poppy, field pansy, fumitory, groundsel, ivy-leaved speedwell, mayweed and red deadnettle. It can also offer good control of black-grass and rye-grass.

In independent trials, Sumimax has shown good weed control when applied pre-emergence versus flupyrsulfuron-methyl applied early post-emergence, says Interfarm.
