  • In the first four months of 2020, China’s import volume of particleboard increased by 18.01% year-on-year to 283,200 cubic meters, and the export volume fell by 5.87% to 94,400 cubic meters. 
  • From January to April, 2020, China exported 57.2 million pieces of wooden furniture, a year-on-year decline of 21.35%; the export value reached USD2.55 billion, falling by 28.55% over the same period of the previous year. During the same period, the import volume and the import value were 1.7981 million pieces and USD201 million, respectively, decreasing by 25.71% and 18.95% year-on-year.  
  • The IPMA has urged India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry to raise the basic import tariff of paper to 25% from the current 10%. In the 2019/2020 fiscal year, India imported about 1.6 million tons of paper in total, up 11% over the previous year, and the import volume from China reached 289,000 tons, a year-on-year growth of 14%.
