Among three main vegetable oils, soybean oil and rapeseed oil consumption still kept rising trend with growth rate of 6.9% and 7.5%. However palm oil consumption declined by 6.3%. The reason for soybean consumption rising were as follows: first, imported soybean arrived largely, with rising soybean oil supply; second, soybean oil price was low, and it was the main consumption in catering industry, which accounting for 43% of the total. Meanwhile rapeseed oil also arrived largely, thus its supply also increased, so did its consumption. In 2014 influenced by the reducing of financing trade, palm oil import quantity decreased by 650,000 ton, which caused palm oil consumption decreasing.

With the improvement of people’s living standard, they pay more and more attention to health food. Thus in edible oil market, “healthy” and “nutrition” is gradually becoming the hot point. Thus the consumption volume of sunflower seed oil, corn oil, rice bran oil, etc adds.

The government largely supports woody oil production. Thus tea seed oil, walnut oil, peony seed oil and other small plant oil consumption grow rapidly, up by 7.7% compared with last year. Small varieties vegetable oil has much added value, which doesn’t controlled by National Development and Reform Commission. Meanwhile most of edible oil has its own flourish product structure.
