Fertilizer Imports in June in China

China’s MOP imports registered 750,000 MT in June and 3.63 million MT in January ~ June, up 38.4% and 23.4% respectively on the year-on-year basis. MOP import price averaged $464/MT (CIF) in June, parallel to the month before but up 16% on the year-on-year basis.

Of the MOP imports in January ~ June, 47% came from Russia, 19% from Canada, 14% from Israel, 9% from Byelorussia and 8% from Jordan. 22% of the imports arrived in Qingdao and 19.4% arrived in Manzhouli in January ~ June. MOP imports by border trade accounted for 31% of the total.

SOP imports registered 14,400 MT in June, 17.9% less than the month before but 63.6% more than the same period of last year. SOP imports totaled 79,000 MT in January ~ June, an increase of 20.2% on the year-on-year basis.

NPK imports were 95,000 MT in June and 700,000 MT in January ~ June, down 25% but up 33.6% respectively on the year-on-year basis. NPK import price was $583/MT (CIF) in June, up 1.8% over the month before and up 8.3% on the year-on-year basis.
