Investment Amount in Fertilizer Industry in China from January to June

The fertilizer industry completed fixed asset construction involving RMB18.35 billion investment in June, 38.1% more than the month before and 21.2% more than the same period of last year. Specifically, RMB5.96 billion were poured into the compound fertilizer industry, RMB2.04 billion into the phosphorus industry, RMB640 million into the potassium industry, RMB4.97 billion into the nitrogen industry and RMB3.37 billion into the organic fertilizer industry, up 58.8%, 25.7%, 13.2%, 8.9% and 5.5% respectively on the year-on-year basis.

The share of investment in the nitrogen and compound fertilizer industries shrank to 28% and 30% respectively in June from the 31.3% and 31% recorded in the same period of last year, but the share of investment in the organic fertilizer industry and others (humic acid, amino acid and organism fertilizer) expanded to 18.1% and 10.8% respectively from 16.9% and 8.1% respectively.

RMB58.66 billion were poured into the fertilizer industry’s fixed asset construction in January ~ June, an increase of 22.5% on the year-on-year basis. 1,133 projects were under construction in January ~ June, 2.4% less than the same period of last year. Of the total, 329 were wound up and 658 were kicked off in the period, 13.2% and 0.6% less than the same period of last year respectively. 76 of the newly kicked-off projects were nitrogen projects, 28 less than the same period of last year. The average scale of investment per project increased from RMB41.23 million to RMB51.77 million, up 25.6% on the year-on-year basis.
