Fertilizer Imports from January to July in China

China imported 751,000 MT MOP in July at an average price of $468/MT (CIF), up 84.1% and 16.1% respectively on the year-on-year basis. MOP imports totaled 4.38 million MT in January ~ July, an increase of 30.8% on the year-on-year basis.

SOP imports were 19,000 MT in July, 33% more than the month before and 25.6% more than the same period of last year. SOP imports totaled 98,000 MT in January ~ July, an increase of 21.2% on the year-on-year basis.

NPK imports registered 139,000 MT in July, almost a double of the same period of last year. NPK import price was $553/MT in July (CIF), down 5.1% from the month before but up 2.8% on the year-on-year basis. NPK imports totaled 839,000 MT in January ~ July, suggesting an increase of 41.3% on the year-on-year basis and a new high volume since 2007.
