Oilseed & Vegoil Imports in August

China’s soybean imports registered 4.418 million MT in August and 39.335 million MT in January ~ August, down 2.12% but up 17.14% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Considering high soybean price in the international market, monthly soybean imports may be below 4 million MT in September and October.

Rapeseed imports were 93,000 MT in August and 1.848 million MT in January ~ August, down 24.91% but up 244.76% respectively on the year-on-year basis. As rapeseed import contract price may drop in the fourth quarter of this year, imports are presumed to pick up around the end of this year.

Palm oil imports were 457,000 MT in August and 3.564 million MT in January ~ August, down 23.09% and 0.81% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
