China Became No.1 Overseas Market of America Regarding Wood

In recent years, with the decreasing of imported wood from Russia to China, America took this opportunity to promote their own wood, hoping to have more share in imported wood of China. It was said that China surpassed Japan and Canada in wood export to America and became the largest overseas market. 

Log import in China was mainly from Russia, Gabon and Malaysia. Among them, most log were imported from Russia, sawtimber from Malaysia, Indonesia and the USA, plywood board from Indonesia and Malaysia with a small part from South Korea. Each year, plywood board imported from Indonesia and Malaysia was in the overwhelmingly dominant position, which accounting for over 70% of the total. Veneer was mainly imported from Malaysia, and then came Cambodia; wood pulp had a fixed importing country, and they were Canada, Indonesia, Chile, Russia, America and Brazil. By far, distribution of wood importing states has little change. In spite of the drop in wood importing from Russia compared with ordinary years, Russia remains the major importer of wood in China.
