Fertilizer Production in September

By CnAgri2012-10-31 12:54:59 Print China’s fertilizer production registered 6.601 million MT (nutrient, same below) in September, including 4.24 million MT nitrogen, 1.794 million MT phosphorus and 567,000 MT potassium, up 14.1%, 13.7%, 15.5% and 12.5% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
    Fertilizer production recorded 19.068 million MT in the third quarter of this year and 54.655 million MT in January ~ September, up 10.8% and 9% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium accounted for 67.6%, 25.5% and 6.8% of the total production in January ~ September respectively.
 
    Nitrogen production was 12.47 million MT in the third quarter, an increase of 10.2% on the year-on-year basis, more than the growth rate of 5.7% achieved in the second quarter. Of the nitrogen production, urea production increased 17.1% in September on the year-on-year basis. Urea production totaled 16.963 million MT (product) in the third quarter, an increase of 13.7% on the year-on-year basis.
 
    Phosphorus production was 5.011 million MT in the third quarter, less than the previous quarter but 11.2% more than the same period of last year. Of the phosphorus production, DAP and MAP recorded 2.05 million MT and 1.71 million MT in the third quarter, up 16.8% and 16.3% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
    Potassium production was 1.587 million MT in the third quarter, 9.4% more than the previous quarter and 14.1% more than the same period of last year.
