Wheaten & Rice Food Production in September

BOABC estimates that wheaten and rice food production was about 2.044 million MT in September and 15.077 million MT in January ~ September, up 20.58% and 10.33% respectively on the year-on-year basis.

    Instant noodles production was 1.041 million MT in September, 20.3% more than the month before and 36.44% more than the same period of last year. Instant noodles production totaled 6.671 million MT in January ~ September, an increase of 6.72% on the year-on-year basis. The promulgated figures showed a production increase of 38.8% in September and 14.6% in January ~ September, both on the year-on-year basis.

    Fast-frozen wheaten and rice food production was 320,000 MT in September, 10.1% less than the month before and 0.31% less than the same period of last year. Fast-frozen wheaten and rice food production totaled 2.779 million MT in January ~ September, an increase of 18.21% on the year-on-year basis. The promulgated figures showed a production increase of 1.3% in September and 15.9% in January ~ September, both on the year-on-year basis.

    Biscuit and cake productions were estimated to be 479,000 MT and 204,200 MT respectively in September.

    BOABC estimates that 1.342 million MT flour was consumed for wheaten food production in September, 9.22% more than the month before and 25.07% more than the same period of last year. Flour consumption for this purpose totaled 9.661 million MT in January ~ September, an increase of 9.22% on the year-on-year basis.

    Flour consumption for wheaten food production accounted for 12.32% of medium and large flourmills’ production in September and 10.74% in January ~ September.

    139,000 MT rice was consumed in September and 1.087 million MT in January ~ September for rice food production, up 6.97% and 14.66% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
