Fertilizer Production in October

    China’s fertilizer production registered 5.987 million MT (nutrient, same below) in October, including 4.24 million MT nitrogen, 1.472 million MT phosphorus and 459,000 MT potassium, up 11.9%, 10.3%, 14.5% and 17.7% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Nitrogen production, potassium production and total fertilizer production dropped 4.3%, 19% and 9.3% respectively in September from the month before.

    The nation’s fertilizer production added up to 60.64 million MT in January ~ October, including 41.03 million MT nitrogen, 15.42 million MT phosphorus and 4.195 million MT potassium, up 9.3%, 8.9%, 10.3% and 9% respectively on the year-on-year basis. The proportions of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the total production were 67.7%, 25.4% and 6.9% respectively.

    Of the phosphorus production in October, 56,000 MT were DAP and 450,000 MT MAP, up 14.7% and 19% respectively on the year-on-year basis. DAP production totaled 5.12 million MT and MAP 4.7 million MT in January ~ October, up 10.1% and 16.2% respectively on the year-on-year basis.

    Of the nitrogen production in January ~ October, 54.9 million MT  were urea (product), an increase of 9.5% on the year-on-year basis. In October, urea production went up 16.2% on the year-on-year basis.
