Oilseed & Vegoil Imports Increased This Year

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2012-11-29 10:41:02China Agriculture Report Print     China’s soybean imports recorded 4.03 million MT in October and 48.33 million MT in January ~ October, up 5.7% and 16.4% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
    Rapeseed imports were 237,000 MT in October and 2.269 million MT in January ~ October, up 14.9% and 158.1% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
    Palm oil imports were 638,000 MT in October and 4.734 million MT in January ~ October, up 39.4% and 2.4% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
    BOABC predicts that soybean imports may hit a new high of 58 million MT this year, 11% more than last year. Rapeseed imports may total 3 million MT in 2012/2013, suggesting a reliance of 20% on imports. Palm oil imports are surmised to exceed 5.9 million MT this year.
