Field crops
Cotton squaring was complete on 90 percent of the acreage compared to the five-year average of 84 percent. Fifty-five percent of the cotton acreage has set bolls compared to the five-year average of 48 percent. Cotton conditions are fair to excellent.
Alfalfa conditions continue fair to excellent across the state. Harvest is active on more than three-quarters of the acreage across the state.
The durum wheat harvest is virtually complete.
Vegetable, fruit, and specialty crops
Arizona growers shipped cantaloupes, honeydews, mixed and miscellaneous melons, and watermelons.
Weather summary
Temperatures were mostly above normal across Arizona for the week ending July 15, ranging from 3 degrees below normal at Parker to 7 degrees above normal at the Grand Canyon.
The highest temperature of the week was 115 degrees at Yuma. The lowest reading was 48 degrees at Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon.
All 21 weather stations recorded precipitation for the week ending July 15. Douglas received the least at .03 inches. Prescott received the most at 2.22 inches.
