NASS Seeks Nominations for Advisory Committee on Ag Statistics

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service is now seeking nominations for new members to serve on the Advisory Committee on Agriculture Statistics. The committee advises the Secretary of Agriculture on the scope, timing and informational content to obtain from respondents of the periodic agricultural censuses, surveys of agriculture and other related industry surveys.

The committee also prepares recommendations on the content of agricultural reports and presents the views and data needs of major suppliers and users of agricultural statistics. The committee consists of 20 members representing a broad range of disciplines and interests including agricultural producers, national farm organizations, ag economists, rural sociologists, farm policy analysts, educators, state ag organizations, and agriculture-related business and marketing experts. Members serve for a two-year term.
