Arysta LifeScience Vietnam Launched KASAI?-S Fungicide

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2012-08-08 17:06:59China Agriculture Report Print Arysta LifeScience Vietnam has announced the launch of KASAITM-S 92SC, a broad-spectrum fungicide for control of rice blast and leaf diseases. The first “blasticide” in suspension concentrate (SC) formulation in Vietnam, KASAI-S is a mixture of kasugamycin and tricyclazole. It is being manufactured at the company’s new SC formulation plant in Song Than II Industrial Zone, Binh Duong province, which came online in May and is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.

"New KASAI-S provides a synergistic effect of its two active ingredients,” said Takashi Kogiso, regional business manager, South Asia and China, Arysta LifeScience. "Kasugamycin has a curative effect, and tricyclazole is preventive. KASAI-S offers rice farmers a total solution by controlling both panicle blast and leaf disease, which are becoming more common in rice in recent years.”

Arysta LifeScience Vietnam, in collaboration with Hokko Chemical and Dow AgroSciences, began development of this new compound combining kasugamycin 12g/L and tricyclazole (DAS) 80g/L in SC formulation in 2008.

"Other products containing the same active ingredient are only available in wettable powder formulations,” added Kogiso. “Suspension concentrates are one of the most stable and safest formulations for farmers and the environment. So KASAI-S has an excellent safety profile, and it is suitable for tank mix with other pesticides.”

Arysta LifeScience expects KASAI-S to become an important disease management tool for rice growers in Vietnam, which is the second largest rice exporting country in the world.
