DLF-TRIFOLIUM taken 50% shareholding of Jensen Seeds A/S

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2012-09-11 19:27:41China Agriculture Report Print DLF-TRIFOLIUM A/S, the world's largest seed company in breeding, production and sale of clover and grasses has taken a 50% of the shareholding in the vegetable seed company Jensen Seeds A/S, headquartered in Odense, Denmark. With this venture the Danish seed business strengthens its global position as a provider of high quality seed.

The share acquisition gives DLF-TRIFOLIUM access to the leading vegetable seed company in Denmark, where Jensen Seeds A/S stands for quality production especially on spinach, with know-how of seed production and seed cleaning together with specialized equipment for seed processing. Jensen Seeds A/S expects a turnover of about DKK 100 Mill. in 2012/13 and the company employs 20 people.

"It is with great satisfaction that we have found a model where DLF-TRIFOLIUM becomes a shareholder in Jensen Seeds A/S. The co-operation gives us wider access to contract seed production in the segment of the best growers in Denmark, and we also meet our customers' long-term interest in maintaining a quality vegetable seed production in Denmark," says CEO in Jensen Seeds A/S, Henning van Veldhuizen.

"We are pleased to have been able to reach agreement on the share purchase in Jensen Seeds A/S. The acquisition is part of the Groups strategic goal to participate in vegetable seed production in Denmark," says the CEO of DLF-TRIFOLIUM A/S, Truels Damsgaard. Jensen Seeds A/S will continue its activities and profile unchanged from management and employees. The share acquisition is part of a planned succession of the company.
