The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship Thursday said that dairy products from Meinders Farm Fresh Dairy in Buffalo Center were recalled and impounded due to concerns that some of the products from that facility did not meet regulatory requirements.

Thursday afternoon's test results indicated that some of the dairy products processed by Meinders did not pass regulatory requirements and therefore could present a risk if consumed. The dairy products produced by the Meinders Dairy are being sold at retailers under the "Meinders Farm Fresh Dairy" label. These dairy products should not be consumed and retailers are encouraged to remove the products from sale.

The Department's Dairy Products Control Bureau conducts regular testing both on dairy farms and in dairy processing plants to ensure the safety and quality of dairy products in Iowa. This includes regular testing of samples.
