Cargill was recently selected as the "Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) National Philanthropy Day Outstanding Philanthropic Organization" recipient from the Association of Fundraising Professionals of East Central Iowa. Cargill was nominated by the United Way of East Central Iowa.

"It's great to see Cargill, one of our many outstanding volunteers, be recognized," said Sue Driscoll, United Way of East Central Iowa's volunteer manager. "Nonprofits could not make it without the help of volunteers in Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas."

The AFP shared that the purpose of National Philanthropy Day is to recognize and celebrate philanthropy's role in the enrichment of our world and to honor the people and organizations in the philanthropic community whose gifts of time, expertise, and resources have made Eastern Iowa a better place.

"At Cargill, we recognize that our continued success depends on the health and growth of the communities in which we live and do business," said Christy Venne, Cargill Corn Milling facility manager. "We are honored to receive this award and could not have been successful without all of our Cargill team members and our truly outstanding group of volunteers."

The AFP held their annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon at the National Czech and Slovak Museum & Library in Cedar Rapids.
