Major companies’ pesticides output up 3.5% in Jiangsu in H1 of 2012

By CnAgri Print According to Crop Protection Industry Association of Jiangsu Province (China), total output value of 20 main pesticide enterprises in Jiangsu reached Yuan 20.68 billion, of which Yuan 15.59 billion allocated to pesticide business, with an increase of 13.7%. Sales of pesticide grew by 12.2% to Yuan 15.42 billion, while the profit rose by 13.7% to Yuan 986.6 million.

The output of pesticide grew up by 3.5% to 184,913 tonnes over the same period of previous year. For categories, output of herbicides went up by 13.4% to 102,631 tonnes; fungicides rose by 9.9% to 29,523 tonnes. However, the output of insecticide, Plant growth regulators and acaricides dipped. Output of insecticide fell by 17.5% to 41,713 tonnes; output of PGR fell by 12.6% to 4,279 tonnes; output of acarcides fell by 3.8% to 748 tonnes.

The export pesticide volume was 45,005 tonnes and the value reached Yuan 2,781 million.

For varieties, volume of glyphosate increased by 17.2% to 61,999 tonnes, while paraquat decreased by 12.9% due to its use restriction. Detailed see this table below.
