Vice Minister Yu Xinrong meets with his Tajikistani counterpart Yusuf Sultonnoebov

Vice Minister Yu Xinrong headed a Chinese delegation to the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Agriculture held in Astana, Capital of Kazakhstan during Nov.29-30, 2012.

 

In Astana, Yu met with his Tajikistani counterpart Yusuf Sultonnoebov and his delegation on Nov.30th. Both sides exchanged views on agricultural cooperation and reached broad consensus.

 

Yu stated that under the support of state leaders of both countries, bilateral agricultural cooperation has been developing rapidly in recent years. In August of 2011, the Memorandum of Understanding on Agricultural Cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Tajikistan was signed, and China-Tajikistan Joint Committee on Cooperation in Agriculture was established accordingly.

 

Within the framework of Joint Committee, both sides have conducted close cooperation on personnel training, cropping and farm machinery. 

 

Yu emphasized that China-Tajikistan agricultural cooperation is of great significance to both sides. He expressed his hope that the two sides will work together to deepen cooperation in agriculture to achieve greater progress, contributing to the well-being of the two peoples.

 

Sultonnoebov fully agreed with Yu's suggestions for cooperation in agriculture. He stated that China and Tajikistan are highly complementary to each other regarding to agriculture and thus enjoy a broad prospect in agricultural cooperation.

 

The Tajikistani side also expressed its hope to continue conducting mutually-beneficial cooperation with China in farm machinery,sturgeon culture and personnel training.
