Significant Increase Noted regarding Pork Imports from January to June in China

According to the customs, China’s fresh and frozen pork imports registered 272,700 MT in January ~ June, a sharp increase of 116% on the year-on-year basis. Frozen offal imports registered 411,600 MT in the meantime, a growth of 9.86% on the year-on-year basis.
The bulk of pork imports came from the USA, Spain, Germany, Canada, etc. The top five pork importing companies, including COFCO Meat (Beijing), etc., handled 28% of the total imports.
