Data from the National Bureau of Statistics show that rice production of processing companies above designated size reached 8.5 million tons in April, up 18.58% year-on-year; the figure for the first four months totaled 26.75 million tons, down 5.75% year-on-year. According to BOABC’s monitoring data, the production of rice in April increased by 20.80% year-on-year; the cumulative production in the first four months totaled 26.91 million tons, up 5.52% year-on-year.
BOABC calculated that the national rice production was 7.57 million tons in April, down 9.10% year-on-year. Of that, the real production of enterprises above designated size reached 6.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.36%, and the figure for small-sized companies was 780,000 tons, down 40.20% year-on-year.
The cumulative rice production in the first four months totaled 23.99 million tons, down 28.91% year-on-year. Of that, the real production of enterprises above designated size registered 22.07 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 22.51%, and the figure for small-sized companies was 1.92 million tons, down 63.51% year-on-year.
The calculated operating rate of rice processing enterprises was 28.9% in April. To be specific, the operating rate of enterprises above designated size registered 32.7%, and the figure for medium and small-sized companies was 13.5%.
