(1) On July 3, 2020, the factory price of carcass averaged 46.93 yuan/kg in 36 large and medium-sized cities, up 5.06% month-on-month. The wholesale price of pork was 49.89 yuan/kg, up 3.46% month-on-month. The retail price of pork averaged 55.21 yuan/kg, increasing by 4.47% from the previous month.
Hog prices are 36.29 yuan/kg in this week, increasing 3.33% from last week. The highest price was 39.80 yuan/kg in Hainan, while the lowest price was 34.00 yuan/kg in Heilongjiang.
The average weight of hogs for slaughtering is 130.39 kg/head in this week,down 0.44% from last week.
Continuous rainstorms in South China aggravated the ASF in Guangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, and other areas, farmers in these regions sold hogs in big quantities, and the supply of standard hogs was tight. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs published new regulations that a real-name registration system would be implemented from the beginning of July. The new regulations will partly restrict the transport volume of hogs, and the supply of hogs will be in shortage. At present, the demand and supply of hogs both are low. It’s estimated that hog rices will rise slightly or remain stable next week.
