The prices of live broilers rose slightly, and white-feather broiler rearing continued to suffer losses.

On April 23rd, the purchasing prices of live broilers stood at 8.87 yuan/kg in producing areas, up 1.28% from the previous week; the prices of chicks came in at 4.49 yuan/bird in the main producing areas, up 3.79% from the week earlier; the average price of dressed chicken registered 17.39 yuan/kg in the major wholesale markets of China’s 36 large and medium-sized cities, up 1.46% from the week before.
During the past week, ratio between broiler chicken price and grain price was 3.02 and ratio between broiler chicken price and feed price was 2.47. The profit of each link of China’s broiler breeding industry was as follows:
Broiler breeding link: the gross profit was -0.79 RMB/bird, up 0.20 RMB/bird than last week.
Broiler slaughtering link: the gross profit was -0.95 RMB/bird, down 0.03 RMB/bird than last week.
