Panel board import quantity dropped in China in 1st half of 2012

Flakeboard import

Due to insufficient supply of super-quality flakeboard in domestic market, China purchases certain quantity from Thailand, Malaysia and West Europe every year. Import quantity in 1st half of 2012 dropped 32.26% year on year to 0.2188million cubic meters, which was mainly caused by the gloomy condition in furniture manufacture industry.

MDF import

Due to insufficient supply of super-quality MDF in domestic market, China purchases certain quantity from Europe and America every year. With the improving quality in recent years, MDF importing quantity is decreasing. Import quantity in 1st half of 2012 dropped 31.08% year on year to 37500 cubic meters.

Plywood board import

Due to insufficient supply of super-quality plywood board in domestic market, China purchases certain quantity from Malaysia and Indonesia every year. Import quantity in 1st half of 2012 dropped 0.18% year on year to 91500 cubic meters.
