Dairy Import Price This Month Went up Greatly

According to statistics from China Customs Office, during the first eight months of 2012 China’s import of dairy products, including six tariff codes - H.S.0401, H.S.0402, H.S.0403, H.S.0404, H.S.0405 and H.S.0406, totaled 786,624 tons, up 29.27% year on year. The average CIF price for dairy import was 2,937 US dollars/ton, 1.89% lower year on year. In August, the international price fell in general, which pushed import price this month up greatly, especially import price of milk powder. The CIF in this month declined by 4.26% year on year, whereas imports increased by 79.93% year on year.
