Cotton Purchase in 2012

Seed cotton price was lower than the same period of last year and rose slightly compared to early purchase stage due to the rebound of soybean price. Cottonseed price rebounded which influence the cotton price.

    In terms of regions, purchase price of seed cotton and cotton seed was lower than the same period of last year. Purchase price index of seed cotton in inland provinces was higher year on year.

    Ginning outturn of seed cotton was lower than the same period last year.
