Flour Production & Consumption in October

Deducting repetitive statistics, BOABC estimates that flour production might be 6.992 million MT. Flour supply was 7.568 million MT in October, a drop of 4.87% on the year-on-year basis.
 
    Domestic flour consumption was 6.932 million MT in October, down 4.65% on the year-on-year basis. Flour consumption for food use was 6.52 million MT, including 3.059 million MT consumed by households, 1.95 million MT by the catering industry and 1.51 million MT by the food industry, down 5.09%, down 9.35%, down 12.7% but up 19.67% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
    Of the flour consumed for food use, 34.14% were consumed by rural households, 27.99% by the catering industry, 21.8% by the food industry and 9.81% by urban households.
 
    36,000 MT flour was consumed by the feed industry, up 2.99% on the year-on-year basis. 35,000 MT were consumed for industrial uses.
 
    Flour price was RMB2,880/MT in October, up 0.81% over the month before and up 1.99% on the year-on-year basis. Flour price averaged RMB2,826/MT in January ~ October, down 0.72% on the year-on-year basis, attributable to falling flour consumption.

    Flour sale/production ratio was 99.55% in October and flour inventory was 609,000 MT at the end of October.
