The Prices of Ginger Have Increased Significantly

In comparison with the prices on June 1, the prices of ginger increased by 24% on June 25th. In terms of regions, 80% of provinces and cities experienced prices increase. The price increase in Beijing ,Tianjin and Shandong are among the top three. Due to low prices of ginger in 2012, a lot of farmers reduced in growing area, leading to reduction in supply and increases in prices. It is predicated that the prices won’t drop till December 2013 before new fresh ginger enters the market.From “China Fruit &Vegetable Market Monthly Report”
