Paddy Consumption for Rice Production in June

By CnAgri2013-08-07 11:19:44 Print Rice production by medium and large mills was 10.695 million MT in June. Rice production by mills of various scales was 11.028 million MT in June. Taking into account of carryin from the previous month and 163,000 MT imports, rice supply was 12.573 million MT in June.
 
Rice consumption and exports added up to 10.993 million MT in June, of which 10.971 million MT were domestic consumption.
 
Of the rice consumed in June, 6.522 million MT were consumed for household food use, 3.5 million MT for restaurant use, 162,000 MT for food industry’s use, 566,000 MT for feed production and 221,000 MT for industrial uses.
 
Of the rice consumed for food use, 36.37% were consumed by restaurants, 33.89% by rural households and 19.66% by urban households.
 
Rice price was RMB4,039/MT in June and RMB4,114/MT in January ~ June, down 2.15% but up 0.94% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Japonica price was RMB4,509/MT in June and RMB4,481/MT in January ~ June, up 3.25% and 1.71% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Indica price was RMB3,786/MT in June and RMB3,917/MT in January ~ June, down 5.32% but up 0.5% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Rice sale/production ratio was 99.68% in June. Rice inventory was estimated to be 1.58 million MT at the end of June.
