Shelled Peanut Imports in 1st Quarter of 2013

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-05-15 10:40:41China Agriculture Report Print China imported 3,902 MT shelled peanuts in the first quarter of this year at a price of $1,373/MT (CIF), down 52.2% but up 9% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Imports from India, USA and Argentina accounted for 51%, 26% and 23% of the total respectively. Last year, 95% of the imports, about 7,775 MT, came from India.
 
Normally, about 98% of the imported shelled peanuts are delivered to Qingdao and Tianjin.
 
The top five peanut-importing companies, China International Investment & Trade Co., Ltd., etc., contributed to 88% of the shelled peanut imports in the first quarter of this year. Shelled peanut imports by top five companies accounted for 65% of the total in the same period of last year.
