10th China Agricultural Trade Fair to be open in Beijing

The 10th China Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF 2012) is to be held in National Agricultural Exhibition Center, Beijing during Sept. 27-30, 2012.
The CATF 2012, just as those held in the past nine years, is aimed at"demonstrating achievements, facilitating communication and promoting trade". The theme this year is to “accelerate the development of modern agriculture and promote agricultural modernisation, industrialisation and urbanisation with coordinated steps”, which is in line with the gist of No.1 Document issued by the Central Committee of CPC this year and the requirements of National Modern Agriculture Development Plan (2011—2015), and reflects the priorities of agriculture and rural work this year.
The CATF 2012 is sponsored by MOA, co-sponsored by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), the General Administration of Customs (GAC), the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC), Beijing Municipal Government and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and organized by the National Agriculture Exhibition Center (NAEC), China Agricultural Exhibition Association (CAEA), the Specialized Sub-council of Agriculture of CCPIT.
The total exhibition area of CATF 2012 is 43,500 square meters, of which indoor and outdoor exhibition areas are 26,500 square meters and 17,000 square meters respectively.
The exhibition is divided into three zones: Comprehensive Exhibition and Trading Zone, International Exhibition and Trading Zone, and Specialized Exhibition and Trading zone.
1. Comprehensive Exhibition and Trading Zone
It includes Pavilion No.1 and part of the New Pavilion,which has a total area of 14,500 square meters. Exhibitors in this zone consist of 33 delegations from 31 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions), including Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and Taiwan.
Exhibition in this zone will aim at demonstrating the latest achievements in China's agriculture and rural economy, and development of modern agriculture.
2. International Exhibition and Trading Zone
It is located in the New Pavilion with an area of 1,500 square meters for overseas exhibitors. This zone is aimed at showcasing high-quality agricultural products, and new technologies and equipments from abroad as well as international cooperation projects in agriculture.
3. Specialized Exhibition and Trading Zone
(1) Cooperatives Exhibition and Trading zone. It is located in the square in front of the Pavilion No.1 with a totalarea of 1,600 square meters. Exhibitors in this zone will be domestic specialized farmers' cooperatives which enjoy all-around strength in planting, processing and marketing of agri-products.
(2) Seed Industry Exhibition and Trading zone. It is located in the square in front of the Pavilion No.1 , covering an area of 1000 square meters. The exhibitors will be mainly domestic leading enterprises in seed industry.
(3) State Farm Exhibition and Trading Zone. It is located in the square in front of the Pavilion No.1, covering an area of 1400 square meters. It will exhibit traceability system of agri-products and progress in vertical integration of agriculture of state farms.
(4) Aquatic Products Exhibition and Trading zone. It is located in the Pavilion No.3, with a total area of 3400 square meters.Exhibitors will be domestic aquaculture enterprises, who are going to display their high-quality aquatic products and processed products.
(5) Research Results Exhibition and Trading zone. It consists ofthe outdoor booths to the west of the New Pavilion, covering an area of 3,100 square meters. It will display new achievements in agricultural science and technology.
(6) Modern Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Exhibition and Trading zone. It is located in the newly-built square in the southern part of NAEC,covering an area of 17,000 square meters. Exhibitors will mainly consist of manufacturers and traders of agricultural machinery from home and abroad.
