Sumitomo Chemical’s clothianidin registered in China

Sumitomo Chemical announced its insecticide clothianidin has received approval in China. Sumitomo Chemical became the first company which holds the complete registration of clothianidin in China. There are three other Chinese companies holding the temporary approvals of clothianidin, Shandong Jingpeng Bio-Pesticide Co. Ltd., Hebei Veyong Bio-chemical Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Flag Chemical Industry Co.,Ltd.

Clothianidin is a broad spectrum, highly systemic insecticide, suitable for application to soil, foliage and seeds. In April, Australian authority approved clothianidin insecticide from Sumitomo Chemical. Global sales of clothianidin reached $325 million in 2009.
