The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin will hold its next World-Class Webinar Series this winter on immigrant labor working on dairy farms. Immigration Attorney Erich Straub will serve as the facilitator of the two-part program, where he will talk about immigration reform updates in Congress and what to prepare for should your operation be inspected by immigration law enforcement.

The first program, being held January 28, will focus on prospects for immigration reform in 2013, particularly an employment visa for dairy workers. He says there are strong signs that the long awaited "tipping point" in the immigration debate may have occurred in the November 2012 presidential election.

On February 25, the series will continue with how I-9 inspections of employers work. He will explain how the dairy business has more at stake than other industries because dairy animals need daily care, and putting up a 'closed' sign is not a solution to a sudden labor disruption.

Webinar technologies allow people to log-in from home or work to join in on special events. Both presentations will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The cost to participate in the on-line interactive program for PDPW members is $100 per registered computer. Non-members can join in for $125. There is no limit to the number of people who wish to share one computer for the program.

Interested participants must have a high-speed Internet connection and must pre-register.
