Glyphosate ranked 1st on volume of the imported agrochemicals to Ukraine in 2012

The report ”Agrochemicals in Ukraine-2012” shows that glyphosate is a leader on volume of the imported agrochemicals to Ukraine in 2012. This is very popular herbicide´s active ingredient continuous action, which is used for destruction of annual and long term weed plants. Glyphosate does not possess fytotoxic action through ground therefore after its application it is possibly to sow any culture. Already a several years this active ingredient takes a leading position among the priorities for import of agrochemical market in Ukraine.

Such type of active ingredient has been manufactured and exported to Ukraine by thirty nine companies from Belgium, China, Belarus, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Denmark, Hungary, Hong Kong, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, India, Germany, Denmark, Russia.

Correlative with data of 2011, the number of companies-manufacturers has been increased, and such tendency is stable in recent years.

Similar to 2011, Chinese companies have kept the first place in volume of shipments thanks large numbers of companies, mainly twenty three. Compare with 2011 the range of Chinese companies has expanded.

As a rule the number of Chinese companies, working at Ukrainian market, increase year by year. Total market share of these companies counts to 54%, which is a littler more (on 2%) in comparison with 2011.

Such way, China, with powerful economics and reasonable market politics, equalize the participation of the rest companies are worked at the Ukrainian market as glyphosate manufactures. In recent years, this trend confirms its stability.

China Chemical Industrial is a leader among the Chinese companies with 10% of total market volume.

Considering the companies market shares separately, the leader is Belgium company Monsanto Europe N.V., with 23% of glyphosate’s market. Compared to the results 2011 its market share has increased on 60% in average.

Swiss manufacturer Syngenta is on the third place with 9% of market volume, which is almost at the level of 2011.

The range of Chinese companies owns with market shares within the limits of 3% - 6%.

Australian manufacturer Nufarm owns with 4% of market.

In general view all significant places at popular glyphosate’s market belongs to exactly Chinese manufacturers.
