China’s Raw Milk Price Rose Further in August

According to monitoring data from MOA, from August 2018 to February 2019, China’s raw milk price saw continuous growth for seven consecutive months.
From March to May, the monthly raw milk price saw a continuous slide, of which March saw a big month-by-month slide whereas April and May saw smaller slide. Price in May stood at 3.53 yuan/kg.
Raw milk price bounced back since June. Prices in June and July were 3.55 yuan/kg and 3.59 yuan/kg respectively. In August, raw milk price went up to 3.65 yuan/kg, up by 0.06 yuan/kg from July and up 0.26 yuan/kg or 7.4% YoY.
According to the price movement, in 2019 raw milk price rebound earlier than in previous years, and the rebound is bigger than in previous years, indicating the change of  the supply-demand relationship of raw milk.
