Hog prices were 17.14 yuan/kg in this week, decreasing 0.46% from last week

) On July 12, 2019, the average wholesale price of pork carcass was 24.27 yuan/kg in 36 large and medium-sized cities in China, increasing 4.57% from last week. The wholesale price of pork on the market was 25.85 yuan/kg, increasing 7.48% from last week.
Hog prices are 18.25 yuan/kg in this week, increasing 6.48% from last week. The highest price was 20.80 yuan/kg in Guangdong, while the lowest price was 14.60 yuan/kg in Sichuan and Yunnan.
The average weight of hogs for slaughtering is 121.36 kg/head in this week，down 0.39% from last week. 
Pig prices continued to rise due to supply shortage. The number of southern hogs that can be transported to the North decreased, and hog supply was tight both in the South and the North, which resulted in a growth in national pig prices, especially a sharp increase in Guangdong. Recently, the outbreaks of African swine fever were frequently confirmed in Guangxi, where pig prices may decline. It’s predicted that the national pig price may decrease in a short time, but it will continue to rise later due to the shortage of hogs. 

 During the past week, ratio between hog price and feed price was 9.56 and ratio between hog price and corn price was 6.04. The profit of each link of China’s Hog breeding industry in last week was as follows:
Breeding link: the gross profit of hogs from self-raising-piglet was 674.82 RMB/head, increased 121.85 RMB/head than last week; and gross profit of hogs from others-raising-piglet was 340.27 RMB/Head, increased 114.74 yuan/head than last week.
Slaughter link: the gross profit of slaughtering enterprises, the ones on slaughtering bought hogs but not as agents, was 58.29 RMB/Head, down 40.48 RMB/Head than last week.
Wholesale link of pork: the gross profit was 121.66 RMB/Head, up 56.98 RMB/Head than last week.
Retail link of pork: the gross profit was about 77.77 RMB/ Head, down 107.03 RMB/Head than last week.
